Just purchased the "Music Maker Content Edition EDM Magix", but it's not showing up in Music Maker and it's not showing in my account under My Products. I'm running the free version of Music Maker. Do you need to have a purchased version to buy and use Soundpools?

All versions of Music Maker are based on the free product, when you activate with the serial number you get for the version you purchased and enter this into the free version the registration then unlocks the features, instruments and extra functions etc for the version you purchased.
You should have received a serial number by email - enter this number into the activation dialog in the free version - Help, Activate Edition - activate the program which will then register in your account, and the rest of the downloads appear in the Store.

I purchased a Soundpool and it didn't come with a serial number, just an order number. Do I need to purchase a version of Music Maker before a Soundpool purchase will work? I've added a screen grab of my email receipt.

The only difference between the Music Maker versions is the degree of functionality and which Instruments and Soundpools you get.
If you have the free version, then the EDM edition should appear in the store ready for download - if not contact magix support - link is below at the bottom of the page.
If you already have the Plus or Premium version of the program then you may already have everything that is in the EDM edition, hence it not appearing in your account.
If so I would suggest you contact sales at Magix - there may be a contact email address in the invoice you received.
