Not all images showing in Calendar

Gary-Howell wrote on 3/3/2021, 11:10 AM

Under Calendar view, not all years/months are appearing, despite having photos from the missing years/months visible under the Folder tab. Whenever I select the file under Folder that has the photos from the missing years/months, they then appear in the Calendar view.

How do I get this to populate fully under Calendar without having to go through and select every single Folder?

Hi

Check the photos that do not appear in the Calendar to see if they have any timestamps - right click some of those and select Properties you should see Created date in the Content tab and may also see 2 creation times in the EXIF tab.

The photos that aren't appearing definitely have dates assigned. They seem to only appear in the Calendar tab after being accessed and viewed under the Folders tab.

I did just install the program last night. Perhaps it takes time to auto go through all of the images and auto enter them into a database for visualization under Calendar? Hard to believe that it would take that much time automatically.

I would prefer to not have to step through every single folder on my computer to get the images to register under Calendar.

This is quite possible if there are a large number of folders and/or images to scan.

Days later and all of the photos are not appearing in the Calendar. Also, initially under the Folders tab, I could select a folder and the images would display. The program would go through and properly frame and display each photo, many getting a little tag/icon in the lower left corner. While in a folder, the 4 gray squares in the bottom left corner would flash until the process for that folder was completed.

Now the process seems to be in a bind. The folders that had not completed the process will display the majority of the pictures, but many just have a image symbol with the file name below it. The folders that aren't completed have a perpetually flashing group of 4 squares in the bottom left corner.

Is there a way to kick the process into completing or is it just working on so many photos that it is taking time and they all will be processed properly at some point?

Hi

Try turning off your Antivirus Realtime protection/Ransomware/Folder protections feature(s) for a short while to see if PM will finished the cataloguing.

Are the folders that are not completing the scan within your Documents folder - if not where are they?

I turned off the antivirus-no change.

What I have found is that the program "goes to sleep" and stops processing after a while. If I scroll through the preview, it begins again. Is there a way to prevent it from sleeping?

The folders are individuals dedicated to photos and/or dedicated photo hard drives. No photos are in my Documents folder.

Hi

. . . . What I have found is that the program "goes to sleep"  . . . .

The program does not have the capability of going to sleep, Windows and the computer do as well as some hardware.

. . . . The folders are individuals dedicated to photos and/or dedicated photo hard drives . . . .

This suggests some folders are on an internal drive and others on external drives.

If so is the internal drive a second drive or the C: drive - if the C:drive where are the folders in relation to the Documents folder?

Are the external drives connected by USB ?

If so, and you have not changed the Power Management settings for the USB ports to stop them being turned off, or turned off after a long time, it is possible that the none active drive(s) is/are turning off stopping the program from continuing the scanning as the drive is 'no longer there'.

I don't have the computer set to go to sleep at all. The program literally will stop processing on occasion while I am looking at the preview screen. I scroll and it begins processing again.

All drives are internal. No folders are on the C: drive.
