UPDATE 18 NOVEMBER 2013
Ignore the rant below, problem sorted thanks to Nathan Uhl at Dresden. After protracted email correspondence and updating of my PC sound and graphics drivers, it transpired that the problem lay in the supplied Scart lead which was defective. Magix supplied a replacement without question. Everything is now working as it should and I'm a happy customer, and I will recommend the software to anyone who asks. Moral is check the cables first, once I'd tracked down the problem, the solution was simple.
I've just acquired rescue your video tapes v6, and have created 3 DVDs without a problem. Tried another today, and audio track wouldn't download. Connections were Ok, and I've tried another VCR without success. Manual says go to advanced settings to ensure Magix driver is installed but no drivers are listed, so am no further forward. I don't understand why the software should work well for a week then I hit this problem. Advice please .
I'm running under windows vista on a laptop which meets the system requirements.
I now have no interface at all between VCR and computer. Is there something wrong with the dongle?
THIS SOFTWARE IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME
