My only suggestion is to go to 'File' >> 'Settings' >> 'Program...' >> 'Display options' tab and try whatever settings are available under video mode for preview in arranger. MEP12 is a very old version and might be expecting something other than the default settings for Win 7.

To be clear which version you are referring to - do you mean  Movie Edit Pro 2013  version 12..x.x.x  as seen in Help, About Magix Movie Edit Pro

or are you referring to Movie Edit Pro 12  (version 5 if the numbering system is consistent) ?

If the older version then this is not compatible with Windows 7 and you will have to upgrade.
