No Starting Playback Marker

JayJJ wrote on 2/11/2014, 3:16 PM

Hey there, I'm fairly new to all of this sound and music editing jazz, all has been going well so far, however on one of my files, and only one, I seem to be missing the Starting Playback (yellow) Marker. There is one on the timeline, the end marker, and I cannot seem to figure out how I A-Lost the marker to begin with, and B-Get the marker back on the timeline. It is getting very frustrating, as I can't seem to save any sound files from this file without a proper playback zone. Not to mention the fact that I can't simply copy and paste the objects onto a new track, which is mind boggling to be honest...

Hi Jay,

I have had this problem and I don't know exactly how it happens, why, or how to fix it without leaving the program. I have found that saving my project, closing and reopening MMM brings it back. It is annoying. I have tried to provoke it myself so that I could see what maybe the cause, without success.

Here is the reference in the manual to this yellow bar:

"Take note of the two markers at the top of the bar ruler – they represent the start and end points of the range to be played (playback range). Playback is "looped" in this range which means that it repeats continuously. New loops can be added when possible."

I will be very interested if someone has a solution.

Thanks for the quick response! after a bit of playing around and experimenting (clicking all buttons) I seem to have found my answer; At the bottom right corner of the workspace there is a small botton called 'optimize arrangement view'  (looks like 2 arrows pointing away from each other) and that fixed my playback bar. Hopefully this helps someone in the future! thanks again for the help!

Hi Jay,

Thanks for getting back to me with the answer. I recall seeing at least one other query about this. I will try to find it and reply with your solution.

Happy playing!
