No sound through speakers

I recently had to do a recovery on my HP computer with Windows 7 OS. I have reinstalled Magix Audio cleaning Lab 16 deluxe but now there is no sound coming through my speakers when I try to record an LP using an Ion Power Play LP player although the Recording level shows it is been recorded. In fact when I play back a recording I can hear it fine.. The player is connected to my computer by a USB 2.0 cable.

I have  checked the sound card settings and the Monitor input signale is ticked.

Before I did the recovery I was using all the same equipment and it worked fine.

Hi

Is the sound card a Realtek chipset - if so have you checked that the stereo mixer is enabled  - see this image

Yes the soundcard is enabled and I have now found I can hear the record being played using a headset but still nothing through the speakers.

Hi

Are the speakers working OK on other audio?  Are they plugged in to the rear green socket?  Are the headphones plugged into the same socket when you hear the sound, or the front sockets on the computer case?

I suspect there may be a poblem with the audio jack sockets on the computer case.
