No sound for Intro/outro clips

FL612 wrote on 11/12/2020, 5:54 PM

I just upgraded to the latest version of Magix Video Deluxe (version 20.0.1.73) and everything work fine, including audio clips. Except my two clips of intro/outro. I can play the video but there's no sound. I just bought a new clip, just to see but it's the same issue. I tried to see in the parameters but i found nothing. Thank you for your help. My set up: Windows 10 v. 2004, Intel Core i7, 32 Gb memory, Geforce GTX760, MB Asus with Realtek ALC887, SSD+HD

Hi Franios.

Which Intel i7 is it please?

I strongly suspect that MEP 2021 can not use either of your GPU's properly (If your i7 has one) and need to turn off hardware acceleration as shown below to allow the CPU to take over rendering.

Hi Franois.

What is the file type? Which intro?

This version of Magix can not take advantage of either of your GPUs and they should not be used.

In settings \ Display options, try switching to Compatibility Mode (video for Windows) and in the Video mode box below switch to Alternative mode 2 (Video Mixing Renderer 9) as well.

See if that allows importing of the files although dragging a clip can be problematic on less powerful machines rather than using the import button in the relative import section of MEPs editor.

I don't know the file type. It's clips buy on the Magix Store, like sound clips.

Those clips were working perfectly with my previous version of Magix Video. Why not now? Everything work great with the software, except those intro/outro clips.

Hi Franios.

The new infusion engine is much more demanding on a system than previous versions of MEP. It expects the new system to be capable of 4K and 8K editing.

Always check the specifications page for absolute minimum specs. All of them. Before you choose to upgrade any program. Never believe the advertising blurb Magix pushes out on its update messages.

If you have not had the program long ask Magix for a refund stating your reasons and go back to your previous version if possible. If that was version 2018 or later you are in luck and the program can still be downloaded from the Magix servers from here.

Magix staff can be contacted at sales@magix.net . There are no staff on the forums, only fellow users like yourself. That includes me.

Scroll towards the bottom of that page to find the download section.

Show us the entire screen.

Other than the newly purchased intros, which other intros that we may have don't work.

Hi

The mouse not dragging and no audio are symptoms of a Windows update that requires finishing installing, it is the first sign I get on my laptop that an update requires a restart.

Try restarting Windows - Windows button, Power option, Restart - this is different to a Shutdown/restart in that it forces the computer to reload all the drivers, including new ones and updates.

You cannot drag and drop an Intro onto a blank area. You have to drag the intro onto the first video clip which should be at the beginning of the timeline. The Intros work with this video clip. Alternatively, select the video clip and use the insert command on the Intro icon when you mouse over it.

For both Into and Outro, you have to have separate video objects. You cannot have both on the same clip, so if there is only one clip, it should be split somewhere to have two clips.

The insert arrow works fine here in Magix Video Deluxe v 20.0.1.73, have you definitely cut the video object in to 2 parts and selected the appropriate part before using the Insert arrow.

@browj2 - out of interest, you can insert an Intro onto a clip further along the timeline, ie it does not have to be at the beginning - though why???
