No sound

whenever i upload a video clip for editing from my HDD Camcoder in the record interface the video plays fine but there is no sound output. what can i do to get the sound out 'cos it is driving me crazy...sm1 please hear me out! thanx.

Hi there,

Not sure what program/version you're using, but if this is footage from a hard drive based camera, it's most likely MPEG material with Dolby Digital/AC3 audio. If you're using one of the video editing program versions that don't have a built-in Dolby Digital decoder yet, the import takes place via standard system interfaces and you need to have the required codec on your system. Please try installing the free AC3 filter for Dolby decoding. This should enable you to import those files including the audio component. You can find this e.g. under the following URL:
