No Live Audio Monitoring While Recording to Sound Forge

I'm running Sound Forge 14 on a Windows 10 machine, and have been transferring and restoring some old analog tapes using Sound Forge. I feed the tape deck RCA out to my sound card input and Sound Forge captures the signal, no problem. Unfortunately there's no sound while I'm recording, only during playback. The only way I've been able to monitor the recording process is to plug headphones into the tape deck and listen from there.  Any ideas I can troubleshoot? Thank you.

@Carl-Weingarten You can change the monitoring settings under the menu View > Record Options. I currently only have version 12 installed so I don't know, if this works the same way in version 14. but maybe it will help you.

As @SP. stated, open 'Record Options'. There should be a "Monitor" context menu with On, Off and Auto. The 'Auto' option enables monitoring when recording or when recording is 'Armed' (aka, record ready). I think it is the same in both versions of Sound Forge-14 (Pro or Audio Studio). Monitoring also enables the record level meters. Levels must be adjusted at the source or interface (soundcard).
