No audio recording from guitar through Audient ID4 audio interface

Hi,

I have Music Maker Premium 24.1.6.127. Sound works fine. Midi input works fine.

When I connect my electric guitar through the audio interface I can monitor the existing track I created, while playing the guitar over it. The Audio interface is recognised as an output device and as an input device.

However, when I arm a track for audio recording and then go to record on that track, nothing is recorded. I've watched 2 separate videos showing how to set this and both seem to go through the steps I have, without this problem. Is there anything obvious I may be missing?

Just to be clear, when I click n the cog next to the record button it shows that the Audient device is set as the input device.

I'm on a Windows 10, i7, 16GB machine with a 500GB SSD. Latest Audient driver.

Many thanks,

Mike

Hi

Did you turn off the AUDIOREC option on the track before playing it back? If not you will not hear the recording.

Hi John,

thanks for your comment. Yes, I arm the track as audiorec before trying to record.

Hi Mike

. . . . Yes, I arm the track as audiorec before trying to record . . . .

I actually asked the opposite - did you turn off, ie disarm, the AUDIOREC option on the track before playing it back - ie did you disarm the track after recording? If you don't you will not hear it.

Do you see the waveform appearing as you record?

Aha. Apologies for misreading. I did do that a few times. In fact I reinstalled the drivers as ‘administrator’ and for now everything seems to work perfectly. I say “for now” because sometimes the software doesn’t seem to save some settings between sessions, but I was able to record guitar.

Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.
