NewBlue Plug-Ins for Magix

I recently purchased NewBlue Video Essentials VI thinking it would work with my Magix Pro X5 software, and I just can't get it to open. I've tried adding the path, and just about everything else I can think of - but I just can't see it.

I contacted NewBlue support and they are giving me some very confusing answers:

Yes, VE6 should work fine in Magix X7. What issues are you seeing?

I note you said you were using Magix X5? Our compatibility page specifies "Magix 17" so it's possible that may be the issue.

What is Magix X7? (or Magix 17....typo?). So I guess the bottom line is that it's not compatible with X5 and I purchased a white elephant? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I don't think there is a Video Pro x7. Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 came out in 2010 or 2011. I can't imagine why it would run on MEP 17 and not on Video Pro x5. But the product specs do specifically say MEP 17 and no mention of Video Pro x5. Go figure?
