Hi and welcome to the forum

A few tips on posting in the forum:-

Please read this topic and put the following information in your profile signature so we do not have to ask for it:

  • Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset make/model, audio card or chipset make/model, RAM,  hard drive configuration and sizes?
  • Windows version and is it up to date?  Press and hold down the Windows key and the R key - in the dialog that opens type in winver and press enter.
  • Software full name and version number - as found under Help, About . . .

Also when posting please include the following where applicable:

  • Audio and/or video file formats being imported
  • Export format and settings used
  • MediaInfo data on audio or video - see below

If you have issues with importing audio or video please use MediaInfo to analyse a problem clip and post the results from the Tree view in MediaInfo

Also add any other information you think may be relevant.

If you want to post examples of your work with a Magix program  there is a separate section of the forum - click the Media option at the top of the page.

The Community rules are to be found using the link at the bottom of the page.

Thanks

@Ausphotos Welcome, great to have you.

What brings you here? Do you have a favorite software?

Ausphotos wrote on 4/25/2018, 7:07 AM

recently purchased Photostory Deluxe and also Movie Edit Pro Premium and need to learn :) My favourite software would have to be photoshop though! :)

Aw, bummer... now you have to leave the community. Just kidding. 😄

What type of learner are you? Do you need video tutorials or do you study the manuals? Just let us know where you need help. @johnebaker and @emmrecs probably have good sources to recommend and when you have a specific question, please, create a new thread and keep John's tips in mind! 🙂

@Ausphotos

There are many how to and getting started resources in the Tutorials section of this forum, on Youtube and also in the Magix magazine.

As first steps read the installed PDF manuals available under Help for both Photostory and Movie Edit Pro (MEP) and watch this tutorial on getting started with MEP by John CB.

There are fewer tutorials about Photostory, however once you get the hang of MEP then Photostory becomes easier even though it is a less advanced program.

. . . . . My favourite software would have to be photoshop though! . . . .

Eeeuw - not any more for me - I dumped it many years ago - Paintshop Pro X9 is my favourite, @MAGIX_Redaktion will probably tell me to stand in the naughty corner for mentioning this 😬.

If you have any issues or what to know how to do something that is not covered by a tutorial then ask in the appropriate section of the forum - for Photostory ask under Photos and Graphics, Fotostory and for MEP under Video, Movie Edit Pro.
