New version of MEP with 365 Update Guarantee

browj2 wrote on 8/29/2016, 9:43 PM

A new version of MEP is out. Check it out on Magix.com

Anyone who purchased in the last 30 days should ask Magix to exchange it for the new version.

The Premium version comes with Vasco da Gama 9, well worth the price of the upgrade.

Were all of the bugs worked out yet for the 2016 version? I don't think so.

John

Just got the email offer (UK) and thought would checkout the Forum to see if there were any comments.

Do note you mention that the Premium Version comes with Vasco da Gama, but cannot see any reference to that - could be my eyes - but what is included here for free is 'HitFilm Cinema Style Pack' which I assume is not the same?

Just checked the main site which just appears to show the Standard version for sale where my Offer is for a/the Premium Version.but seemingly different upgrade offer to yours John?

Hi George,

Try this link:

http://www.magix.com/ca/movie-edit-pro/premium/

Scroll down and you will see The Vasco da Gama HD Essentials, whatever that means.. Hope it's not just for Canadians.

The Hit Film presets show up with the Basic version.

Looks like it is. Here (UK) the HitFilm extras are with both the Basic and Premium versions. No reference I can see relating to Vasco da Gama.

Hi

Vasco da Gama is mentioned on the UK website for the Premium version, however the trial version of Premium is definitely using the old Travel Route Animation at the moment.

From the manual it looks like Vasco da Gama is an add on, so it may be you have to purchase the full version to get all the extras and add-ons.

@ John CB

Have you seen these new effects:

The Mask generator looks promising, Cookie cutter - not sure if I would use that though it has several options,  Shot match is now in from VPX, Lens flare could be a useful effect and the Gaussian blur as a seperate effect is much better than the blur in the Sharpness effect in MEP 2016.

Vasco da Gama comes in 2 versions, Advanced and HD Professional. The one offerred with MEP is HD Essential. I guess that Motionstudios made a hybrid but stripped-down version, hence the HD part. I started with version 5 that came with an earlier version of MEP, and upgraded to the pro versions including 9. Love it. I recently bought the Streetmaps from them, v6 world. Very interesting. I haven't had much time to play with this but the maps are or can be very detailed and you can show or not show certain details. Too much camping and renovations, and now I'm going back to work (have to pay for all of this), so even less time. So much for retirement. The maps come with coordinates and now open directly in VdG. GPS data can be read in and the route shows up, fully modifiable.

George, if you get VdG with MEP, please post some details as to what it does.

I expect the other new features to sbow up in VPX very soon.

Thankyou for that detailed information. Am still awaiting a reply and, great, now have some detailed information to compare with the reply. Instead of going to work to help financially, am taking a weeks break to hopefully take advantage of the good weather here in England so may not be able to add anything for a week.

Hi

. . . . The Premium version comes with Vasco da Gama 9 . . . .

VDG 9  requires the following minimu graphics card support:

  • OpenGL 3.3 or higher
  • ShaderModel 3.0 or higher
  • 8 Texture mapping units or higher

Intel HD onboard graphic chips with the above may work, however they are not officially supported.

I suspect that if you do not have the minimum requirements then VDG 9 will not be installed.
