new user - how do I...

hi everyone.

I am a completely new first time user who just bought Magix Music Maker Premium.

(yes, I jumped right in without demo'ing it after reading a few reviews about how the program is beginner friendly)

the description says i get to choose a few things, including:

3 Soundpools of your choice,

1 Soundpool Collection of your choice,

3 MAGIX instruments of your choice, and

2 Tiny instruments of your choice

I just downloaded the program two days ago but haven't really had time to play with it.

I looked in the store briefly.

Is there a way to tell what qualifies and what does not (or what credits we have) ?

I cannot seem to find that anywhere ?

thanks for the assistance.

@Grunge

Hi and welcome to the forum

If you have not done so follow these steps:

  1. Download and install all the Extra content under the Downloads tab see image 1 below and note 1, before redeeming any credits.

  2. In the start up dialog your credits will appear as shown in image 1 below - click the Redeem option and the Credits dialog will open telling you what you can get - see image 2 below - follow through the instructions - choose carefully as once redeemed you cannot change your mind.

Note: Music Maker 2021 has some bugs, the immediate one which may affect you is in the Downloads tab see item 2 here.

I would suggest you read the rest of the list - some of these bugs may not affect you immediately - they are being worked on by Magix and will fixed in new patches.

Hi John,

thank you for the help, but I've identified another problem though :(

I decided to buy Magix Music Maker Premium after reading a few reviews and didn't know we could buy it direct.

I went into Best Buy because it was on sale, and they placed an order and sent me a digital key.

The ad and box art says "New Version" but when I started the program tonight a popup is asking me to pay $69.99 to upgrade to the 2021 version... something is greatly wrong... I just installed and activated two days ago.

When did the 2021 version get released ?

Not sure if I should contact Magix or Best Buy...

here is a link to the Best Buy ad (the box art on the Magix doesn't have a program year date either):

I just wanted to make music.... (sigh)

@Grunge

Hi, I'm clearly not @johnebaker but, given the situation you are in with reference to the version you have I would suggest you request a refund, if possible, from Best Buy (so completely uninstall the version you have - the free Revo Uninstaller will ensure you remove everything which is part of the program installation (just be very careful with everything it shows you it is going to remove if you have any other Magix program installed)) - and then buy the latest version direct from the Magix website.

The 2021 version was released about a month ago.
