New to Sound Forge- No sound for demo.

I just got Sound Forge as part of the Sony Vegas Suite 17. I downloaded ASIO2WASAPI and installed it. I chose this driver in the audio under preferences and while I play the demo, I get no sound. My speakers make a click when it begins and ends but no music. The play runs and I see the representation of the sound in the visual but no audio. I had trouble with extracting the files and wonder if there is a specific place they are supposed to go? Or if there is just something missing. All sound works for the movie program itself just not Sound Forge. Help?

@Trisha-Mann

Hi

. . . .  I downloaded ASIO2WASAPI and installed it. . . .

This begs the question why - it is not a required, nor Sound Forge driver.

Sound Forge already comes with the correct ASIO (Magix Low Latency 2016), WDM and WASAPI drivers.

Try the Magix Low Latency, WDM and WASAPI drivers in the Sound settings of the program.

The 'Classic Wave' and 'MS Sound Mapper' audio device types are 99% trouble free in Sound Forge. An ASIO driver is usually not needed with SF.

To access the SF audio device type settings, go to: "Options> Preferences> Audio"

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Trisha-Mann .

Thank you. That was very helpful on the ASIO2WASAPI issue. The reason I got that was because when I was trying to play the demo for the tour, I was getting no sound. I located the Magix Low Latency 2016 one and tried to play but I get the same issue- it looks like it is playing but I hear no sound. Any other ideas? Thoughts?

Thank you again for your help. I did some more poking around in the Advanced settings and also plugged in a set of external speakers. (I am using a TV for a monitor which is working well) and with the external speakers, works great! For whatever reason the TV speakers will not work with the sound, but the external speakers have a subwoofer so that will be the preferred sound output anyway! Thanks again! =)
