There is also no announcement under "News" here in the forum - not the best service. However, you can update directly when you open Soundforge.
I don't like to update directly either - I prefer to download the update file and save it in a separate folder so that I have it available in case of problems.
The SF Pro 'Suite' version includes more software applications and plug-ins, such as Steinberg's SpectraLayers Pro and Celemony's Melodyne and others. The update patch for SF Pro application itself is the same as the non-suite version. There may be updates for other software items though.
Greetings, Sound Forge Community! There is a new patch available for
Sound Forge Pro / Suite 14.0.0.140
Vocal Activity Detection - Activation fixed
MP3 file support - Removed need to activate MP3 Codec, which fixes import / export issues
Hi, I'm sorry for Hijacking this topic but I can't seem to send you a private message regarding the Sound Forge beta test. I'm new to the board but I have no clue where I should go to send you a PM.
I'd be interested in being a SF beta tester. I've been using SF Pro for nearly 25 years for radio production. I'm Chief Engineer and producer at WGRN Columbus Community Radio 94.1FM (wgrn.org). I'm also a musician and plan to be creating/editing and uploading samples for my new Nord Piano 5 keyboard sample player.
I worked as a system tester for many years with Bell Labs, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, so I have experience with beta testing in general.
Thanks, Eugene Beer eugene@wgrn.org or eug@pianopeddler.com
SF 14 tries to update but says it can’t do so while SF is running- but other than the update window, it is not running, and closing the base window (which offered the update) closes the update too. It re-downloads every time I open SF and it fails every time. So frikken maddening someone email me please
@GabrielMark-Hasselbach, If for some reason the update process does not work, log-in to the "Magix Service Center" click,'My Products' download the install manager (which will have the latest build) and re-install. You do not need to uninstall SF first and you will not lose any of your custom settings. The other items in the install manager do not need to be reinstalled. If you still have difficulty downloading or unpacking, we can send you a link to download the unpacked files.
A bit off-topic, but I saw a post about you seeking beta testers. I'd be interested too to become a beta tester for Soundforge (and Acid too). I've been professionally using the programs since the Sonic Foundry days and still am. I've tried to contact via PM, but for some reason it doesn't doesn't work even when logging out/in.
