Two new bugs have appeared recently in Sound Forge Pro 14 (64-bit build 130). I'm using a Dell computer running Windows 10 Pro (build 1909) with 64 GB of RAM.
A) You lose the File menu if your audio windows were maximized, the last time you closed Sound
Forge. Here is how to reproduce this (assuming that the option "Open default Workspace on
startup" is turned on):
1) Open two audio windows, and maximize one of them
2) Note that the menu bar correctly begins with the Sound Forge icon, which is the Restore|
Move|Size|Minimize|etc. menu, followed by the File menu, and all menus work correctly
3) Exit Sound Forge, then restart Sound Forge
4) Hover the mouse cursor over the File menu, and notice that it jumps suddenly to the left
5) Do either:
a) Click the tab of another open audio window, bringing it into focus
=> Note that the File menu has been replaced with a Sound Forge icon that shows only the
Restore|Move|etc. menu. You can no longer access the File menu; even the Alt-F access
key does nothing.
or:
b) UN-maximize ("Restore") the current audio window
=> Note that the File menu has disappeared; the Edit menu is now the first menu. You can
no longer access the File menu; even the Alt-F access key does nothing.
B) File / Save As, MP3 format: the "Custom..." Custom Settings dialog tends to freeze when you click
the "ID3 Settings" tab. To make it responsive again, you have to switch to another program, then
back to Sound Forge.
