Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I clicked check after the changes.  I save the project, and I can render the project out and it's correct.  But every time I exit the program, come back in, and reload the project, my titles are replaced with the "X3D Version 6" thing.  I have 5 credit clips in the current project I'm working on, and it does it to all 5.  Can't figure it out, and it's a pain redoing each one every time I reload the project...

I've been using MEP through quite a few versions, but this is a first for me.  And yes, it's very annoying.  I've been trying to decide whether to go back to 17 Plus (didn't happen there), or just switch.

Thing is, I did some searching here before I posted and couldn't find anybody else mentioning it.  Also been checking for updates the last few days that might possibly resolve the issue.  I was beginning to think it was just my installation that was doing it, but it didn't make any sense.

Guess I'll use something else till it gets resolved...

Thats odd (maybe not surprising on this site......yours is the first notification of an answer I have seen in months...!) that you could not find any reference to the problem - see here http://www.magix.info/us/importing-3d-titles-from-xara.knowledge.782382.html not that it helps much.Exporting as a GIF or AVI from Xara and importing into MEP is a workaround mentioned in the replies though.

Thanks for the link, Scenestealer.  I own Xara 3D Maker 7, but it's installed on a different computer..  I use one for graphics, animation, imaging, etc., and another for video and sound production.

On this issue I'm just using the stock 3D titles that come with MEP MX.  After looking through your other thread, though, now I'm wondering if the two are linked somehow and you need a registered copy of X3D installed on the computer MEP is installed on in order to use/save the 3D animated titling in MEP?  I didn't see anything noted about that, but I'll have to check.

I see the other thread is from July, it would be nice if someone who knows anything about this would respond...

No the Xara titles in MEP should work without the full version of Xara installed. At least your experience shows me that it is not my installed trial version of Xara that is to blame...... not that it helps us much.

Just to let you know, I installed the full version of X3D 7 on the video computer just to be sure, and it didn't make any difference.  As you say, the docs say these titles are included in the Plus version and nothing about needed X3D.

Generally it's a safe bet that if no one else seems to be having the same issue I am that's it's something on my system, but if there's at least two of us there has to be something to it.  I'm sure it's some particular combination of things causing the problem, but if it's not recognized and the cause determined we can't expect a fix for it.

Or maybe it's just you and me and nobody else cares...

It is not that nobody cares.

I would suggest that either not a lot of people use the Xara 3D animated titles, or, are not having the poroblem so they cannot help.

I have tried to reproduce the problem in 17, and MX with the default installs and everything behaves as it should.

I probably didn't mean that the way it sounded (nobody cares), just that it might not be an issue with anybody else.

I didn't have any problems in 17 Plus either.  I'd just upgraded to MX the other day and this was my first time using the 3D titles in this version.  I've tried pretty much everything, making sure there isn't anything running that might conflict, rebooting the system, clearning caches and temporary files, etc., but it happens every time.  And it happens to all 3D titles in the project.

Thanks for the reply, it sometimes helps as much to know others aren't having a problem as knowing some are.  If it is a bug, it has to be something that's only happening in certain conditions...

It's a pity the smileys were not working (they are now) - I too did not mean it as I now see it looks; without the necessary smiley it lost the humourous intent.

As you say it is often a specific action or subtle interference from something in the project that causes the problem - this then makes it difficult to track down.

Does the same thing happen if you create a new project and add just one Xara 3D title?

Can you post a screen shot of the timeline where the title is in the project causing the problem.

Funny you mention smilies, John.  I had originally used one on that 'nobody cares' line, but it didn't work.  That's why the edit - to take out the junk it left.

And yes, I tried it with just one 3D title and it does the same thing.  Tried it with 5, then 3, then 1.  Really wanted to use them in this video, but I've already started making them in an external program to import into a different editor.

I deleted all the project files for this thing (working on it in something else), but I'll try to get time in the next day or so to do up a quick test project to grab some screenshots from...
