My Sound Forge is BARE BONES.

Cinemalexis wrote on 6/22/2021, 4:24 PM

I bought sound forge 13, but I'm really dissappointed and think somethings wrong.

There is hardly any effects in this progrgam. I can't even find a compressor.

I watched some youtube video, and that person had WAY more thinsg in their "FX Favorites" in the top menu. Mine has two things - Magix - and SoundForge

And there's not even noise removal in this program? HOW?? I'm so confused. I thought I would pay for an audio program and it'd be better than free Audacity.

Should saving also take like half an hour?? I know it's an hour long recording but that's really subpar.

There's probably lots I don't know, but I can't even find out how to learn this progrgam! No manual I can find. Hardly any vids on youtube.
Can someone point me in the right direction?):

@Cinemalexis There is a very long manual in the help menu. Which version have you bought? Pro or Audio Studio? Audio Studio is much cheaper and has less features.

I have Soundforge Pro 14.
There is an entry under "Help" called "Interactive Tutorials" - does that help you?

I've only found bits and pieces of help tutorials on Youtube too.
The Magix tutorial page is also very thin on the subject of Soundforge:

@JoaoBC
Can you provide links to Youtube videos that are more aimed at learning the programme in its entirety?

@Walter.I @SP. @JoaoBC

From another post he's made it seems that @Cinemalexis has actually purchased Sound Forge Audio Studio 13, and not SF Pro.

Perhaps that is the reason why those effects etc. he expected to find are not present?

It's a pity that people don't use their signatures to enter their details.

So these forums are becoming more and more like question and answer games........

@Walter.I

Agreed!

@Cinemalexis

I have SFAS 12.6 and there is no FX Favorites that I can see. However, because I have a considerable number of external (non-Magix) VSTs installed on my computer which SFAS can access and use, this lack is not a problem for me. I suspect you have viewed Videos of Sound Forge Pro and not Sound Forge Audio Studio.

@Cinemalexis

Even Sound Forge AS (Audio Studio) has many plug-in. Some of which are the legacy Direct X plugs, so you may be looking in the wrong place.
iZotope's Ozone Elements, (VST) is also included which has a nice paragraphic EQ, peak limiter and width enhancer.
