My project will not play back

Jimmy-Zanata wrote on 11/18/2020, 1:16 PM

Using ACID Pro 9. I use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC4040 external interface. Everything is working fine with recording / playback of ALL my projects.

I have a project that just will not play back. I am just having this issue with this one project all my others are playing fine. Is there a hidden lock on the transport or something that may be causing this ? I hit the spacebar to play and nothing happens, I click on PLAY on the screen and nothing happens as well. If I load another project everything is good. This is the first time I came across this. I tried creating a NEW project and load the individual tracks in, save it and the same thing happens?

Thank You

Jimmy

Jimmy, even though the recording works fine, go to preferences, Audio Device tab, check to see if the right interface is actually selected. Also, make sure that there are no other applications in your PC using up the sound interface. I mean do you have another DAW open while Acid is open? Make sure that Acid is not a Rewire under another DAW (it will say Rewire in audio device) if that is the case. Hope it helps.

Hi, I have just had this problem, and spent an hour trying to work out what was going on. Seems that that particular project (and all previous versions of it) had taken exception to one of the soft synths, in this case EZdrummer. By changing that midi track to a different soft synth, it suddenly started working again. And in fact, then reassigning that midi track to a "brand new" soft synth, and adding EZdrummer as a new soft synth, still works perfectly. Absolutely no idea why it had gremlins, but a very frustrating morning just sorting it out!!! I hope that might help you!

Thank you so much for your inputs, The interesting thing about this is, it does not move when I press play on the transporter or the spacebar on the keyboard. I checked the audio device is correct and I am not using any midi. I actual moved the audio tracks into a NEW project, thinking it was something in the background I could not see or the playback feature was corrupted? And the move still did not work. LOL All my other songs playback fine. Maybe Sony 9 does not like this song lol. Maybe I'll see what happens when I update to 10?? Thanks again guys.

Must be your song than. Acid Pro sometimes hates certain music, it will crash on you if you play the wrong song.
