My Midi controller won’t work with the software consistently

I am using an AKAI MPK mini II with the most recent version of Magic Music Maker version 27.0.0.16. I was only able to get my MIDI to work with the software twice, but once I close down my computer or put the computer to sleep, it won’t work when I start up the software again. Despite there not being any changes made to the settings. I’ve been trying to make it work for 30 minutes watching the same videos I did the first time but nothings working

Hi

This sounds like Windows is hibernating/powering down the USB hubs and they are not waking up correctly - you can change the power settings so they do not hibernate/sleep:-

  1. Right click Computer on your desktop and select Manage.
  2. select Device Manager in the left pane
  3. in the right pane select Universal serial bus controllers
  4. Right click a hub and select Properties
  5. in the Properties dialog select Power Management if it is there.
  6. uncheck Allow computer to turn off this device to save power*
  7. repeat steps 4 - 6 for the remaining hubs.
  8. close the Computer management window.

* Note - if you are using a laptop this will reduce your available time on batteries.
