Insufficient information to help. How is your mic connected - USB or to sound card?
How are you monitoring your recording? Sound card usually can't record and monitor at same time.
Did you look at the tutorials in this forum?

As JohnCB says not enough information, however as a guess the microphone is a mono mic and they do normally appear on the left channel only.
You can use the Stereo Processor (Z key) to duplicate the Left channel in to the right - Both=left - and then use the track balance control to position the vocals on the audio stage.

Check your recording levels and increase the microphone boost setting - in Audio device, Recording tab - to get the correct level.

Are you plugging the microphone into the red socket on your sound card - if not then you should be.
Does not matter whether it is a USB mic or has 3.5mm connector, if it is not a stereo mic then my original answer still applies.
