How much is the dsp load? Which  Soundcard and driver are  you suing? Did you already try http://resplendence.com/latencymon  ? If so, please post a screenshot of the result.

Hi

There is a simpler way of assessing what the problem is, I suspect the problem may be related to the computer processor or memory being overloaded or the audio buffers are too small .

To check this with Music Maker open and the project loaded :-

  1. Right click the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen

  2. Select Task Manager then select the Performance tab and click the CPU option

  3. Try playing back the audio in your project

  4. You shoud now see what the load on the processor is.

  5. Repeat the test for the following items for the Memory and Disk options as well.

If any of these are maxing out then try increasing the size of the audio buffers in the programs settings and repeat steps 3 - 5.

If any of the above still max out then the laptop is not powerful enough for previewing the particular project, however the exported audio file will play OK
