It will play on my blu ray player but not on my PS3.

Not a lot of information to go on - however I would first check that the BD disks are compatible with the PS3 - the PS3 cannot read or struggles with certain brands/type of discs..
We need more details on the settings you used t burn the BD.

I am using pro x 3 and was trying to burn the AVCHD not blu-ray and the settings were 1920x1080i NTSC. I am using Verbatim Blu-Ray discs.I have tried multiple different encoder setting but every one I have tried iin NTSC format wont play on my PS3. All dvds play fine.

There have been various reports that the PS3 cannot play AVCHD discs depending on the version of PS3. ANCHD from memory stick or external hard drive appears to be OK but not disc.
Try burning a standard Blu-ray disc (BD) and try that in the PS3.
