Changes in patch 24.1.5.110 compared to 24.1.4.75

New:

  • Concert Grand LE – play an entire grand piano on your PC
  • Revolta 2 with 16 Best Of Presets (Plus edition) – a synthesizer for extreme bass, classic EDM and brand new sounds
  • MAGIX connect – Stay up to date with the latest information on MAGIX products, offers, coupons and more

Improved:

  • Problem with crash while using Echo effect fixed
  • Bug fix for surround peak meter in the mixer (Premium, Live)
  • Bug fix for scale selection in the screen keyboard
  • Modifications and improvements to Mediapool
  • Bug fix for problems with play cursor in the arranger
  • Additional minor modifications & improvements throughout the program

Comments

Since I already had the full Concert Grand LE, I don't see anything new.

Under Soundpools, I see 2 New in red at the top, but nothing shows as new under the albums, so Magix may have broken something. I don't think that "Soundpool Collections available from Store" qualifies as a new feature at all.

I don't see anything new under Revolta 2.

Magix connect? I don't think giving us adverts can be classified as a new feature.

Mediapool modifications and improvement: What modifications? We still cannot create links to folders like we could before this 2017 version.

The Yellow bar at the top is still problematic, or worse. Double-clicking on the area does not expand the bar to the full length of the song. Those pesky blue markers still appear.

EDIT: I just checked recording to see if Normalize after recording is working and it is not.

There is still a problem with the recorded object cutting of the last couple of seconds. The recorded object shortens after stopping and upon playback, the sound stops before the playback marker even reaches the end of the object. The sound can be put back by extending the object, but that should not be required.

For a 365 update program, the updates have been next to none, in my opinion. I am disappointed.

Does anyone else see improvements?

Hi John CB

.. . . Under Soundpools, I see 2 New in red at the top . . . .

This is the only red 2 I see - is it the one you mean?

. . . . I don't think that "Soundpool Collections available from Store" . . . .

In connection with the red 2 above I think it means there are 2 new Soundpool collections available in the store.

. . . . Magix connect? . . . .

I suspect this is the new name for the 'news' dialog.

. . . . Those pesky blue markers still appear . . . .

Did we ever get an answer what they were for?

. . . . problem with the recorded object cutting of the last couple of seconds. The recorded object shortens after stopping and upon playback, the sound stops before the playback marker even reaches the end of the object. . . . .

I do not see this happening when recording from microphone or other input.

Hi John EB,

Thanks for taking a look.

Unless I missed it, the New banner should show up in the upper right corner on two of the Packages under Store. I haven't updated on my Surface Pro yet and there are 60 of them. I will check again after updating of the Surface Pro.

No reply from Magix about the blue markers. I raised this a few times with them.

The recording problem was also there before the patch. It was pointed out to me by another user on the forum. Most annoying for anyone who records in MMM. I don't have this problem in VPX or Samplitude.

Hi,

I updated my Surface Pro 4 to the new MusicMaker patch, but not without a lot of problems.

After the patch, the program started and the Store hung on looking for the internet. I was connected. Waited a bit and finally quite the program. Tried to restart and I got the following error message:

Uninstalled MMM and tried to re-install, and then tried to update to the patch, but it said that it was already installed. I used the special Microsoft install/uninstaller that I downloaded and was able to uninstall all patches and MMM.

During the uninstall, the following message popped up a few times:

Reinstalled and the following message popped up:

I already had this patch and applied it. Then I did the latest patch for the third time (big download that does not stay available on the computer). BTW, use the coupon SORRY if you buy anything. It may still work.

Once open, I waited for the Store to finally update this time. The two items for sale are likely the Vocoder apps that show up under Instruments as New, not Store.

I updated the Folders path and the program crashed upon ok.

I reopened it and updated the Folders path and it finally worked. So far so good, but it was very time-consuming and annoying.

For anyone who has trouble uninstalling, here is the link to the Microsoft app:
