Music Skips / Lags

Hi,

I'm a long time sound forge user. Just upgraded laptop and purchased sound forge 16. I'm attempting to do some of my basic audio editing and I'm getting a skip/lag while the track plays on sound forge without even editing.

I have a Windows 10 Laptop with the following specs:

- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz   1.80 GHz

- 4 gb ram

- 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

- 1 TB hard drive

I have tried on two different laptops and have the same issue. The laptop is definitely not overloaded and fairly new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have some urgent editing to do. Please help!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Does this happen with PCM files or just lossy type files like MP3?

If it only on lossy file types, enable 'Always proxy compressed formats' in "Options> Preferences> General" menu.

Otherwise, try resetting SF?
In the 'File' menu, select "Reset and clear cached data". Close and restart Sound Forge. FYI, resetting will revert all your custom settings back to the 'factory' defaults.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Armando-Paz.
