Hi all,
The recent Music Maker update 28.0.2.43 was recently followed up with two further patches (28.0.2.44 & 28.0.2.45) to address some high-priority issues. I decided to amend this post to be able to maintain the complete patch notes below, rather than creating a new thread just for these hotfixes. Here are the enhanced patch notes:
Changes in patch 28.0.2.45 compared to 28.0.1.19 New: "Loops Unlimited" - The new soundpool subscription option is here! (Please see in-app store info page for details.) More: New instruments available via the Music Maker in-app store. Improvement: Re-engineering of the soundpool database format, resulting e.g. in the improvement of database loading times. Improvement: The installation of a soundpool no longer spawns a separate dialog. The progress is now shown on the soundpool tile in the store, in the download manager, or in the "Loops" tab. Improvement: Many smaller optimizations within the in-app store system. Bug fix: Corrected Undo behavior in the MIDI Editor. Bug fix: Looped playback in MIDI Editor now works, even when it has been deactivated in the arranger. (MIDI Editor "Cycle" function now corresponds with the button for looped playback in the arranger.) Bug fix: Fixed performance issues introduced in update 28.0.2.43 and caused by soundpool memory management issues. Bug fix: Fixed bug when downloading and installing soundpools and soundpool collections. Bug fix: Corrected problems reloading old projects with loops in MXCOGG format. Bug fix: Errors when re-importing soundpools have been fixed.
As always, the patch will be deployed via the program's automatic update function, which you can also trigger via the "Upgrade program online" option in the "Help" menu. Please keep in mind that, under the current Music Maker product concept, you'll be able to patch your way up to the current product generation and revision from any version starting in generation 25.x of the software.
If you're still using a slightly older version of the software (generation 18.x to 24.x), please note that you now have an option to benefit from the improvements and core features in the newest generation of Music Maker without paying for an upgrade. There's a basic edition of the most recent Music Maker version that is available to everybody free of charge. You can download and install it from the following address:
http://dl03.magix.net/musicmaker.exe
This version will then continue to receive updates with improvements and new features, and will essentially always be up-to-date. Within this free version, you can unlock exactly the features, instruments and audio content you want through the built-in store system. As an owner of a previous, paid-for version of Music Maker (going back to Music Maker generation MX/18), you would be able to enter your existing serial number into this free version, which will give you access to the features and instruments that were part of your particular Music Maker version.
