Hi all,

As some of you may have already noticed, update 28.0.1.17 for Music Maker went live yesterday. Here are the official patch notes:

Changes in patch 28.0.1.17 compared to 28.0.0.12

New: The Loop Manager can be faded in or out in the Media Pool and Control tab. Views can be set using the View menu.
New: Effect presets can be used again via a redesigned tab in the Control tab.
Optimization: Settings for filters and views in the Loop Manager will be saved when the program is closed.
Optimization: Optional columns in the Loop Manager can now be configured more easily.
Optimization: Localization has been revised in Music Maker.
Optimization: Audio object normalization has been redesigned.
Optimization: The project path for recordings can now be quickly set in the program preferences.
Optimization: Track names can now contain special characters.
Optimization: Improvements to user interface throughout the entire program.
Optimization: Drag and drop MIDI objects to a project.
Optimization: Loop range handling in the Music Maker arranger and MIDI editor has been completely redesigned.

As always, the patch will be deployed via the program's automatic update function, which you can also trigger via the "Upgrade program online" option in the "Help" menu. Please keep in mind that, under the current Music Maker product concept, you'll be able to patch your way up to the current product generation and revision from any version starting in generation 25.x of the software.

If you're using a slightly older version of the software (generation 18.x to 24.x), please note that you now have an option to benefit from the improvements and core features in the newest generation of Music Maker without paying for an upgrade. There's a basic edition of the most recent Music Maker version that is available to everybody free of charge. You can download and install it from the following address:

http://dl03.magix.net/musicmaker.exe

This version will then continue to receive updates with improvements and new features, and will essentially always be up-to-date. Within this free version, you can unlock exactly the features, instruments and audio content you want through the built-in store system. As an owner of a previous, paid-for version of Music Maker (going back to Music Maker generation MX/18), you would be able to enter your existing serial number into this free version, which will give you access to the features and instruments that were part of your particular Music Maker version.
