jennifer-dean wrote on 8/11/2017, 9:19 AM

I have uninstalled the Music Maker because I don't need to use it however I can NOT get rid of the store desktop notification that popups with adverts.

Please can someone tell me how to get rid of this?

I uninstalled Magix entirely because of this pop-up sales spam, and the pop-ups keept coming anyway.

Magix installs a second app just called "Connect," that you can find in your add/remove programs control panel. If you look, it should say it's made by Magix. Removing that seems to get rid of their sales pop-up, at least I haven't seen one since I removed it. I would have kept using Magix if they respected their users enough no to do this kind of thing.

I just unstalled this Magix 'Connect' spamware that put popups on my desktop. I'm insulted by their greed and disrespect.

And I deleted their Music Maker toyware.

I got a copy of Music Maker through Humble Bundle recently and have noticed exactly the same. Installing Music Maker and MP3 Deluxe put six different apps on my PC, failed to work without crashing and actively started showing adverts on my desktop.

All of this on top of the constant email opt-ins requests and multiple registration forms have seriously put me off MAGIX. I'll never purchase anything from them again.

I suggest using a removal tool like ADWcleaner, this may remove the offending article

How DARE these people. I, too, got this crapware via Humble Bundle. It will be the last time these people see a dime from me.

Would you believe as of 6-3-2018, the ad still exists... thank you robothobo for helping me pinpoint the app. I guess these people don't realize this is pissing off every customer.

@Torietron

I see this is your first post to the Magix forums, and it seems you have come here merely to rant. Sensible, constructive criticism of Magix programs or requests for help with specific problems are welcome, rants are not!

As a result, I have hidden your post; should you wish to ask a specific question about a specific piece of software, please feel free to post in the appropriate forum.
