I assume you mean Magic Maker Premium. Are you missing out the P3- at the start as you are supposed to do.

Lauren-Ross wrote on 4/5/2021, 7:32 AM

Yes it's premium. I am, I've tried every combination to be honest and it's still not doing anything when I press the Activate button

SP. wrote on 4/5/2021, 7:41 AM

@Lauren-Ross Have you installed an update recently? Then please try the following: go into the program settings and click on the button to clean up the store. This will delete the cache. A broken cache can cause issues like you described. The cache will be rebuild from scratch after you clicked on the button.

Lauren-Ross wrote on 4/5/2021, 7:57 AM

Ive just tried that and it’s still not working.

@Lauren-Ross

Hi,

Music Maker is free, so I don't understand what you mean when you say that it doesn't work. What doesn't work?

The current Version is Music Maker 2021 (29.0.6.36).

When you activate an Edition, like Music Maker 2021 Premium, you are unlocking and obtaining some Features, Presets, Instruments and Soundpools, most of which you have to download and install by selecting them on the Downloads tab/button.

Did you purchase Music Maker 2021 Premium or an older version?

Under Help, About, what version do you see? The current version is 29.0.6.36.

Click on Help, Music Maker Store, and select Activated content. You should see a listing of everything Music Maker that you have activated. Do you see Music Maker 2021 Premium?

If so, then it is activated. Don't keep trying to activate it. The box for putting in an activation code is always available in the startup dialog interface under Magix Account - it is not asking you to put in an activation code.

Make sure that you are logged in - you'll see your email address at the upper right of the screen.

@Lauren-Ross If nothing happens it is also possible that your firewall is blocking Music Maker. Try to disable every friewall/Windows Defender temporarily and try it again.

browj2 wrote on 4/5/2021, 1:24 PM

@Lauren-Ross

Just to add to what I mentioned, there is only 1 version of the program no matter whether you have the free, Plus or Premium Edition. If you have MMM2021 installed, whether by update or using the free edition, nothing happens to the program when you activate a Plus or Premium edition. It's the same program so don't expect the program to change.

@SP.

I think that users think that by activation an edition, the program is supposed to change.

I have the Music Maker Premium edition. Magix says that program will automatically ask for serial number when opening program but it does not. How can I activate. On older versions the request to enter serial would come into view when you tried to use different functions like import a file, etc. When I go to my account and look at the info about this version it says two activations are allowed with both areas showing no activations . Thanks

SP. wrote on 8/19/2021, 3:13 AM

@Celica Hello! It is normal that no activations are shown in your account because Music Maker is bound to your e-mail address and not to a device. Have you tried to create more than 8 tracks? This will not work in the free version. If it does work for you then you know that the registration went fine. But usually your Music Maker edition should be visible at the startup screen. You can also open the startup dialog via the help menu.

Hi

Did you check to see if the program was activated as @browj2 suggested above ie

. . . .Click on Help, Music Maker Store, and select Activated content. You should see a listing of everything Music Maker that you have activated. Do you see Music Maker 2021 Premium . . . .

You should see something like this:

You may also see other versions listed in the dialog above if you had them installed.

I have Premium Edition which I have purchased. When viewing my account, it shows the purchase and serial number and two available slots for activation on two different devices. Does anyone know a working tech support email for Magic? Thanks

SP. wrote on 8/19/2021, 10:07 AM

@Celica There is a ticket system you can contact but this will likely take some days until you get a response.

https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/how-do-i-contact-technical-support--1513/

You're more likely to get help faster in this forum if you can tell us the technical specifications of your computer.

Because you already made sure that the premium edition is listed in your user account we know that the registration went fine. Now what are you seeing if you open Music Maker? Is the your username and e-mail address listed in the top right corner? This is necessary to use the premium edition features. If Music Maker is not connected to your user account you need to log in.

browj2 wrote on 8/19/2021, 1:38 PM

@Celica

Magix can't help you any more than we can if you don't read what we tell you to do and if you don't reply to our questions - properly.

Music Maker Premium what? 2020? 2021? 2022? We are not clairvoyant.

Do you have Music Maker - the program - installed? If so, which version. See the question by John E Baker to which you did not reply correctly at all.

MM Premium is not a program, it unlocks stuff in Music Maker. To do so, you first have to install Music Maker - the current version is 2022. Once in, you log in, and then on the start up screen, you enter your P3 code for the Premium Edition. This will start unlocking stuff and add a whole pile for you to download and install under the Downloads tab.

No, your replies are obscure and not helpful. We asked specific questions and your replies are vague at the best.

We also told you what to do. You did none of it or you would have succeeded like we did.

Things have changed in the last couple of years. Music Maker is now free. If you want to unlock features, presets and get more instruments and Soundpools, you purchase an Edition, like Music Maker Premium 2022. Everyone has to get the base program - Premium is not a version of Music Maker. If you purchased the edition, Music Maker Premium 2022 (we don't know because you won't tell us if it's 2022) then you have to first install the Version of Music Maker 2022. Once you have that, then you can activate your Premium 2022. If you don't have Music Maker 2022 installed, but, say, an older version, then Premium 2022 will not work.

So, have you installed Music Maker 2022?

Here are the steps to get Music Maker 2022, then log in, then activate Music Maker Premium Edition 2022.

1. Download the free trial of Music Maker 2022 from the Magix.com site or from the link in your email if you purchased Music Maker Plus or Premium Edition 2022. They are identical - they get the program, not the Edition. Here is the link.

2. Run the downloader and install the program. (Edit: If you have Music Maker version 2021, it will be replaced by 2022.) Upon first start up, here is what you'll see:

You will not be logged in and, for you, there will be an update pending. Do not update yet.

3. Click on New Project to get into the program

4. Click on Help, About and here is what you'll see:

The version is 30.0.0.11. If you have 29.xxx. then you have Music Maker 2021, not 2022.

5. Close this.

6. Click on the Sign in button at the top right:

7. Enter your email address and password that is the same as your account at Magix.com.

Certain things like features will be automatically activated if you have previously activated versions, like Music Maker Plus/Premium 2021. Music Maker finds these from your account. Your email address will show at the upper right. It is important to log in.

8. Optional - Click on the Downloads tab and download all and install everything now - or later.

This is a long process.

9. Click on Help, Display start dialog screen or restart the program to get it. You will now see the latest Edition that you have activated previously. I have Music Maker Premium Edition 2021.

10. If you have purchased Plus or Premium Edition 2022, then click on Enter serial number and enter the activation code:

11. Click on continue and you'll see this:

12. Click on Continue. The program will automatically install/unlock certain features and add many more items to the Downloads tab, including features, presets, instruments and Soundpools.

13. From now on, when you start Music Maker 2022, you will see the latest Edition. I now have Music Maker Premium Edition 2022 loaded into Music Maker 2022. If you are not automatically logged in, and sometimes it takes 10-20 seconds, then log in manually.

14. Click on Downloads and download and install everything. You will then have a fully functional Music Maker 2022 with the latest Edition (and earlier Editions) that you have activated.

15. Update if you haven't already done so. The latest patch as of today is 30.0.1.23.

16. Check that Magix has all activated Music Maker Editions by clicking on Help, Music Maker Store, Activated content. Here is what I have, going back to 2016, which is the earliest that is considered by the program:

If you don't see all of your Editions, including special Editions like EDM, Hip Hop, etc., or if you are missing some things like some instruments that came with an older Edition, try activating them on the Start dialog screen, then check under Downloads to see if anything new comes up.

Note that I have not discussed any credits that you may have received with the purchase of an Edition.

Well thank you John. At least you are making more sense than the program itself is. Mine has reverted to a 'Free' edition (was Premium) and even though I have downloaded more updates, it hasn't done anything. Except, even though I have been and downloaded some updates, it seem there is one (major) bit missing. Music Maker 2022!

I have version 29.0.6.38 installed and currently it will not allow me to open already produced music as it is more than the Free version gives. Nowhere has it suggested I need to install version 2022. I'll give it a go. Thanks for your light at the end of the tunnel.
