@Robert-Aprill The download stops? The easiest way is to disable Windows Defender or your firewall temporarily. Enable it again after the installation has finished.

I saved the download to the desktop and click on it to open and it decompresses the files and starts what I assume is the install process and after about 30 seconds stops. The spinning thing by the program name quits and a pause sign takes it's place. On the bottom right corner of the screen there is a continue button and a cancel button. When I hit continue is does the same thing. I had Music Maker 2022 installed but deleted it as I thought that may be the problem but there was no change.

@Robert-Aprill

Have you done as @SP. advised and turned off any and all antivirus and/or firewall programs you have running? Also check your settings for Protected Folders and Ransomware. Quite often, it is Windows security settings that seriously interfere with program installation.

I'll check again, I thought I did. Haven't had this problem with any other programs in the past.

I checked and Defender was on, turned it off and the same thing happens.

I ordered the backup DVD, I guess I wait for that and try that.

Hi

. . . . I saved the download to the desktop . . . .

Try moving the downloaded install manager file to your Downloads folder that is inside your Documents folder and run it again - this is where it should be.

You should not save any files on your desktop, it is a protected location and under certain circumstances could be reset without warning, resulting in loss of the files stored there.

Still won't install. Just and added note, I had to use the "if the download doesn't start automatically click here" button, as it didn't start automatically. Not sure if that makes a difference but that is all I have.
