@Wobblebottom

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . I have purchased Magix Music Maker Premium 2020 . . . . I am notified via pop-up that the actual version I'm running is the 2016 edition . . . .

Where did you purchase from and did you get an email with your serial number - please do not post this in the forum?

What is the full name and version as found under Help?

Did you have Music Maker 2016 on your computer before - if so is the message actually saying it has found the serial number for MMM 2016 and has activated or wants to activate?

Hi, John. I purchased Magix from the Magix Shop and yes, I did receive a serial number via email along with an official order number. The name and version number that I found under help is Music Maker Version 28.0.2.47 and is copyright dated 1994-2019. I haven't had a previous version of Magix Music Maker on my current computer (which is brand new) but my previous computer was given to me second-hand by a friend and that DID have an older version of Magix left on it which may or may not have been the 2016 version. Sorry, I'm not very computer literate at all. The little pop-up says "Magix Low Latency 2016 - Music Maker 512 Samples @44 100Hz. Also, when I had my current computer built, the guy put in a new 1TB SSD as well as the 500GB SSD from my old computer. Do you think there may be traces of that older version still on that old SSD? I believe that Magix has activated because I can use it. It's just perplexing to me that I don't seem to be running the version that I paid for.

@Wobblebottom

That message is nothing to do with any older version of Music Maker, I'm sure you will be pleased to know!

It is a message telling you that Music Maker has opened and will use the Magix Low Latency Audio Driver which is needed to enable you to hear anything from the software. (The reference to "2016" is because that was the year this particular driver was last updated; and, for your reassurance, it is still the latest version!)

One more thing: having installed and registered the software on your computer did you also download and install ALL the additional content that was then available to you?

@emmrecs

Thanks so much for the reassurance. That explains it all. And yes, I managed to download all the available additional content with no problem.

Thank you @emmrecs and @johnebaker for clearing that up for me. Much appreciated.
