Music Maker Premium 2019 crash - help

robert-cacciatore wrote on 2/15/2019, 11:56 AM

I won't make this mistake again (yeah right)
I had a brilliant new project in the works for well over an hour worth of edits... HOWEVER I never saved the project.
Suddenly Magix had a fatal error and stopped working. It re-opened into a blank (empty) project.
Is there any possibility to recover what work I had done?

Hi Robert,

Maybe. So long as you didn't turn off the automatic backups in the Program settings and you left the default as is, then there should be a backup created every 10 minutes. Go to File, Backup, Load backup project and look in your Project files folder for this format:

ProjectName_BAK0.MM_

This goes through 10 backups - BAK0 to BAK9 before overwriting BAK0 and starting again. Pick the most recent backup.

Good luck,

Yes there are backups of my other projects - but only for projects I had previously named and saved.. this one wasn't saved yet.

@robert-cacciatore

Hi

. . . . but only for projects I had previously named and saved.. this one wasn't saved yet . . . .

It should still be there - the file name will be Newx_BAKx.MM_ where X and n are numbers and they should be in the location specified in the Program settings, Folder tab, Projects.

Use File, Backup, Load backup project and browse to the location found above.
