Music Maker not recording Instruments

Not sure if I've posted this in the right place, the site doesn't make it very clear

Music Maker isn't recording the Midi plugin instruments.

Right now I have the Vita "Acoustic Drum Kit" set up. I can hear it when I click the keyboard, and everything seems to be set in my settings fine so that I can hear the audio, but when I click record, it's not being recognised by the software

The metronome is being picked up (which is a really bizarre feature, why would I want the metronome recorded?) But nothing I try to record on the drum, piano, or synth plugins is working.

It worked abruptly for about two seconds last night, but when I tried to re-record the material it has reverted to not being picked up.

Settings are: Audio/MIDI

Playback (WASAPI driver)

Output (Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth)

These are the only settings that allow me to actually hear what is being played.

Any help would be grand, or else I'm gonna uninstall MM and resort to recording myself banging on pots and pans

I recommend you start by installing and using ASIO4ALL. Personally, I've had issues with all audio output driver, other than ASIO.

See this thread:

Do not try to record with the keyboard that is at the bottom of an instrument screen, you can't. It's only there to try out the sounds and show articulation keys.

I doubt that the metronome is recording. If you turn on the metronome and press on play, the metronome will also play, You have to turn it off.
