Music Maker: Can't read Soundpools

Zelotbe wrote on 7/28/2019, 10:43 AM

Hi,

It's been a while since I used Music Maker, I made a project this week. Everything was fine, the other day I see I needed to update, (Current version: 28.0.0.12 using Windows 10) Did that but now my soundpools cannot be read by Music Maker. See image: https://ibb.co/5WDm3BQ

I saw another post where the solution was to change the path because it's in a public folder.
That option can't be changed on installation so I'm stuck right now.
Tried to change the directories in the settings but when trying to load the soundpools it shows the public path again.

Anyone know a solution/fix for this?
All help is greatly appreciated :)

Hi,

What is the source of the Soundpools - purchased from the Store or before the Store was added to MM?

If from the Store, are you logged in to the Store? See above the Media pool, your email address should be there. If not, log in.

Where are your Soundpools now?

Did you try to scan the Soundpools folder? Loops tab, gear button, Add new Soundpools.

Hi,

Did all of the above, every soundpool is loaded now thanks :)

I now experience a different problem tho, When starting Music maker I get a separate window "Magix -Vita File not found" - "Could not find the file: B2_12_16.wav".
Not sure if it's a major problem since I can proceed further if I close the window.

Thanks for the help ;)

Hi,

I have no idea. I don't have B2_12_16.wav or anything close to it on either of my computers.

This actually comes up when you're *starting* the program?

Are you getting problems when trying to use the "Vita (2)" software instrument? The WAV file name would be referencing one of the sample files from the software instrument's library (which are not on the system in unpacked form, but as part of a big image file). Possibly, your local Vita installation has taken a hit. In order to try and resolve this, I'd suggest the following procedure:

Open the list of installed software (e.g. "Apps and features") in Windows. Find the entry for "MAGIX Content and Soundpools" in the list of all installed programs and open it. This is a content manager for the various components installed by MAGIX audio programs on your system. It will populate a list of all relevant installed components and the information which MAGIX product installed each component. Find the entry for "Vita 2" and uninstall/remove it via this list.

Once this is done, please completely uninstall Music Maker from the system. This generation (28.x) would show up simply as "Music Maker" in the list of installed programs (as opposed to older generations showing up as "MAGIX Music Maker ..."). Now perform a complete reinstallation of Music Maker. You can use the following URL for the download, which will always have the most recent program version:

http://dl03.magix.net/musicmaker.exe

Part of this installation process would be the sub installation of Vita 2, which should now go through without any potential for conflict with an existent Vita 2 installation. (Pay attention to any error message you may receive during the installation procedure, though.)

Hope this helps. If you're still struggling, maybe get in touch with MAGIX support.

Cheers!
