Music Maker 2020 issue or earlier too? VSTi does not record correctly

Hi all,

made the upgrade to 2020 from 2019 Premium (not bought 2020 Premium as it seems it works like 2019 Premium still with new GUI so fine for me).

I am not sure is this is version specific but when I use VITA Rock Drums, CLICKING on the instruments while recording does not record the notes. It does record when I use keyboard but I do not whant that because when you click on different part of drums you can get different sound and that is not the case with MIDI or keyboard.

Is this something that is known as a bug? Are there some settings maybe?

EDIT: It does NOT work in Samplitude either. Clearly something with engine :-(

Can someone confirm this and report to developers pls?

Hi,

Nothing is wrong. You cannot use the instrument screen to record - neither the drums nor the keyboard on the instrument display screen. It is for testing and adjusting sounds, not for recording. You could not do this with 2019 either or any other previous version.

You have to use the MusicMaker keyboard at the bottom of the screen (or wherever else you can now move it to) or an external MIDI keyboard or drumpad.

That's a shame, would be a nice feature none the less for touchscren enabled devices 😌
