Sounds are unable to play, cannot be read by music maker. "Ambient-Endless Spaces" sound pack. This version of MMM was purchased on Steam, need assistance asap.
I have 8 x free and purchased loop packages that don't work since I reloaded *Music Maker Premium 17* and each has a similar error messages to jesus-garcia's above. I too would like some help please guys ? Cheers ...
@jesus-garcia - You didn't indicate which version of MusicMaker that you have. After about half way through the life of Music Maker 2017, Magix came out with a proprietary format mxcogg for the Soundpool loops. These will not play on older versions of MusicMaker. Look under Help, About for the current version number. The latest is 25.1.2.78 and it is the free/Plus/Premium version - they are all the same.
You should learn how to take screen shots - Alt+Printscreen, paste in Word or a graphics program, export to jpg format.
@dave-jones - Music Maker Premium 17? That is very old. Do you mean 2017? If so, then update to the latest patch and the loops should work. If you use the new version, you can install it for free and activate everything that you have under 2017.
This version is called Music Maker 2017 Steam Edition, patch/version 24.0.2.47. This is a digital copy from the steam store. After purchasing the audio sound pack "Ambient-Endless Spaces" I made a track with the new sound loops and exported to WAV audio format for a listen. After exiting MMM and restarting MMM the sound loops from "Ambient-Endless Spaces" didn't work, could not be read by MMM.
Updated the desktop version of MMM, this is not the steam digital version. Went to the MMM store tab and searched for the sound pack I recently purchased. Now the sound loops worked!!! what a hassle sheesh.
This is strange, the desktop updated version seems to work fine, the sound loops work but i only have 8 lanes. In the Steam MMM Edition 2017 I have about 16 lanes to work with, but the new sound pack doesn't work in the steam version!!! Anyone got any info on this matter?
This is because you now have the "Free" version of MM, which is limited to 8 tracks. I think the problem is that you have updated from a purchased Steam version of MM to the "Magix" version (i.e. downloaded from the Magix site). Is there an update on the Steam site (i.e. suitable for your Steam version)?
The only way to be able to add more tracks to the Free version is if you purchase an upgrade to either the Plus or Premium versions.
@jesus-garcia - as per what Jeff said, but you can go also to the Store and purchase only Additional tracks. Of course, if you want to buy more features, presets and instruments, it will quickly cost you much more than buying Plus or Premium and getting a bunch of coupons.
