Music Maker 2015 activate MIDI objects

lyn-s98 wrote on 10/29/2015, 7:42 AM

HOW?  I tried to export the track I arranged as an MP3 ...  no good. 'file invalid' when try to opn anywhere else

As exporting message comes up 'activate MIDI tracks .. I even got an email from Magix saying 'ah yes you need to activate the midi object s and assign to each track. HOW???  There are little icons of a drum kit.. or a piano.. or whatever but how does that help ? If I click on the picture of a drum kit how does that tell thentrack on which I have used three beats from various sources and now forget where they came form anyway? The names I can only see the first two letters of if only used two bars of each one.  Which I can of course put on seperate tracks but that doesn't help.

how do I export a track please as a proper working MP3 file? I never had this problem with Music Maker 2012!!  How come this is an issue? MM is usually overall so intuitive and easy to fathom. But I notice loads of people are gettign stuck on this, judging by the amounts of things I have read on the net about it.

Thanks

Lyn

Great. No answers. Meanwhile I spent three days messing and now understand how to assign a midi sound to a channel ..  and guess what - it still will not export a track as an MP3 in any readable way.

I even tried exporting a track with NO MIDI objects... nope.. will not give a decipherable MP3

I have no idea if I am to assume I need to uninstall and reinstall my product (MMM 2015) ...  if there might be a bug. If I am doing something worng ..  I just tried an experiment by arranging a silly quick track in samplitude on same PC to see what happens and it went over perfectly. So I reckon it probably is not the PC...  what in God's name is wrong with this programme. Anyone? Is tehre anybody out there please. I wrote an email to support to Bob and he has written several times back but does not know .. he just said activate the channels which I have done and said he does not knwo what else it can be

Hi

Did you use the Search box on the right to see if this issue has been seen before?

If so you would have found this topic.

Check the program settings (P key), Audio/Midi tab, MIDI Output device has a device specified - mine is set to Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth.
