Music Maker 17 Premium & Keyboards

I want to use MM premium 17 to
(1) record audio/midi
(2) Control Software Instruments directly from my Yamaha PSR-s550 or Yamaha
MM6 keyboard.
Are there any specific drivers (except Yamaha ones) or settings that I need?
Do you think is better I get a simple USB/Midi Keyboard and if so, which one you would suggest?

My intention is to create the melody/solo with the keyboard while MM17 plays the background/ rythm loops.

Thanks,

Claudius

hi claudius i am a new member and think that we may be going down the same road i want to purchace the music maker 17xxl with the supplied usb keyboard but would also want to use my existing sound modules korg / kawi rack. not sure if you can record these sounds directly into the musixmaker software at the same time as playing loops etc. this of coarse would be brilliant if we could i have asked this question but not had a reply as yet, i will keep you in mind if i have a responce

I have not got an answer but a problem with setting up the keyboard

I received a copy of MAGIX Music Maker 17 Premium for my Christmas. I am having a few problems with the keyboard which came with it. MY computer does not seem to work with it. I presume it is a MIDI problem. My system uses Vista Home Premium 32bit operating system, has an Intel Quad Core processor with 8GB of memory. My sound card is a SB XFI.
