Music Maker 15 Can't get hear audio input while recording

I use Vista on an HP Laptop with a Conexant Mic input which I would like to use for recording my keys while listening to the drums I laid down. I can't hear anything even though I see the "VU" meter moving wshen I play. I can hear the drum track and if I hit record, it will record what I play, but since I can't hear anything, it is a waste. Ideas?

Also what is Music Maker Rock Star?

Hi,
In the record dialog window check the "Playback While Recording" box.

If that doesn't work - try clicking the REC button in the icon area of your track... this can cause recording problems so use it as a last resort.
