Music.M Dance, error message, program closes, lose work, HELP !

I am using a Music Maker Dance program for simple voice recording, using an external audio interface (Tascam US-122) and a condenser mic.

Some thing new has started happening. When playing back my vocal recordings, I am getting a pop-up error mmessage saying Magix program has encountered a problem and must close. I can't do anything at this point  except close the program, so I lose all my recorded work. My buffer settings are all as they were, and I've optimized my pc for recording, shutting down all uneccessary programs, trying to minimise any use of the memory I have, which is 1 MB. I am only using a 1/4 of the disk space I have, and I have my programs and sound files on 2 different hard drives.

Is this a lack of memory? Should I buy another MB of RAM?

Hi,

I think you mean you have 1 Gig of RAM rather than 1 Meg.  1 Gig is a little light for almost any computer now days. Getting at least 2 Gigs is highly recommended.

I doubt that will fix your problem, however.  The first thing to try is the good old uninstall - reinstall.  Usually, when I have a Magix program start that kind of error and crash, I uninstall and reinstall.  It usually fixes the issue.

This was more common back with MM12.  I've not had it happen on MM14pe, which is the version I've been using since it came out.  I've actually started using Samplitude Music Studio 15, which I've found to be very stable.

Good luck

Good troubleshooting work!  Symantecs is another product I avoid.  I've been using PC Tools Firewall Plus and Avast Antivirus (both free) for years and have found them to be trouble free.  Symantecs caused me endless problems and so did ZoneAlarm after Symantecs acquired them.

Good luck with your future projects!
