Multi track recording

Just purchased Sound Forge. I have used your cleaning lab products for years and love them! When I saw the multi track recording feature in SF I jumped on it and purchased it. Recorded my first track and want to play what I recorded (track 1) in my headset and record on track two another track. Is there a tutorial on how to do this? Seems the program wants to record the file at the end of the track I want to listen to as I record. Maybe this is not the software for multi track recording?

I think you may be confusing multi-track with multi-channel. Both Sound Forge Audio Studio (AS) and Sound Forge Pro are multi-channel editors. Both Vegas or Acid can effectively overdub (old-school term for recording a new track whilst listening to and playing along with a previously recorded one). Avid's ProTools is a well known DAW, but there are many available, including the free Audacity. Another low cost DAW is Reaper, which as originally influenced by Vegas by one of the WinAmp folks.

Thank you. Yes maybe I am. I guess I purchased the wrong program.
