Multi-core Support and Soundtrack Percussion Instrument

WoodlandSpirit wrote on 9/15/2018, 12:33 PM

Hello everyone,

Taking advantage of the current Humble Bundle offer I 'upgraded' my older Music Maker 2015 to the current 80s edition, got everything activated from current and old version, downloaded, installed, several round of updates, but there seems to be 2 lingering issues.

From my understanding from the information on the Humble Bundle page and on the editions information in the store, the 80s edition includes multi-core support however looking from the 'more features' section of the store Multi-core support displays as an unpurchased extra which I'm sure is not correct based on the information available.

Before the round of updates I had 'Soundtrack Percussion' instrument downloaded and installed from the MM 2015 activation however now it displays with a padlock in the corner that has the message 'Activate instrument' and when clicked on takes me to the page with the options to purchase or 'Activate Edition' but everything shows as activated in the previous versions section.

Otherwise things seem to be working fine!

Thanks

Hi

. . . . . From my understanding from the information on the Humble Bundle page and on the editions information in the store, the 80s edition includes multi-core support . . . .

The only references I can find to 'multi-core support is included' are on the Magix website and are for the Plus and Premium versions of Music Maker only - see image below.

The special editions eg 80's, EDM etc are less featured versions of the Plus and Premium offerings.

From the information in the store within MM itself, the last bit of text at the bottom.

Hi

Looks like an error on that information page - I would suggest you contact Magix at infoservice@magix.net for clarification.

The Humble bundle give you the 80s 2018 Edition. The mutlicore is available to purchase in the store or by using a 2019 edition. (e.g. 80s 2019, ......)

Hmm, even the info on Humble Bundle mentions multi-core support, might have to contact Magix and see what's going on, sounding like the feature is not carrying over, assuming it's not an error, although can't see why it wouldn't.

With a little bit of reasearch the offer on humble bundle is in fact wrong.

Let me explain it.

Take a look at how the box from the 80s edition look like.

Here is the one from 2018

and the one from 2019

So as you can see the offer on humble should give you a key for the 2019 edition, but that's not true.

When I enter the key on magix.com it clearly shows that it is the 2018 edition.

That's why the multicore support will not be unlocked since it was added with the all 2019 editions.

Music Maker Content Edition 80s credit for things like the 3 soundpools and the 1 instrument and

Multicore-support for adding the function multicore support.

Also pretty bad for me since I already activated the 2018 80s edition. And you can only activate every edition once. Activating 2018 80s and 2019 80s would be no problem.

OK thank you for the info, overall it's not a biggy but out of principle someone needs a kick somewhere and hopefully there won't be multiple people coming here shouting "WHERE'S MY MULTI-CORE SUPPORT?!?"

Just this stray instrument to take care of now.

to my understanding , 2019 Premium purchase , then use one of the vouchers to get Multi-Core feature . For those who get the cut rate versions like "2019 Free" has No vouchers , then ya gotta buy those features out right . The Voucher concept allows someone to "get the features they want" , instead of Magix giving a fixed base set of features . Sure , some features are gonna be more popular then others , but just cause it is popular doesn't say that everyone wants it . Magix voucher approach is a good idea . That's why ya get 8 vouchers to get 8 features that you want . ( same thing with getting 99 tracks , feature )
