@terry-roberts

Hi

While you may be the 'Local administrator' that does not give full admin control.

Try starting MMS 2025 by right-clicking the shortcut and select Run as administrator then activate the codec. Once activated, you should be able to run the program and use the codec with your local admin privileges.

Hi. Tried that still not activating mpeg2. I had this problem when I upgraded to 24 version, can't for the life of me remember how it was solved.

@terry-roberts

Hi

Try temporarily disabling your Antivirus Realtime/Folder protection feature the try to activate the codec again.

If that fails, I would suggest you raise a Support ticket, link is at the top of the page, slect the program then scroll down to the bottom and select Contact support, complete the following dialogs, selecting Contact or Email Support.

Hi. tried right clicking run as admin and disabling all security, still not activating the codecs, why does this keep happening? I have 4 other editing software suites and NEVER have any problems with codecs, it just seems to be this software, I also use davinci resolve, really powerful editor, no problems with codecs AND THAT IS FREE!!!

@terry-roberts

Did you do as @johnebaker suggested and raise a support ticket?

Hi yes I did but not heard from them yet.

emmrecs wrote on 8/25/2024, 8:48 AM

@terry-roberts

When you submitted the ticket did you receive an automated email acknowledgement?

If so, it includes a ticket number so reply to that email and ask for an update.

If you did not receive that email your ticket has not "gone through" and you need to create a new one, sorry.

I have created 3 tickets, each time I get an email, but each time the email is blank.

emmrecs wrote on 8/26/2024, 4:33 AM

@terry-roberts

Can you confirm the emails were completely blank? i.e. there was not even a support ticket number in the Subject line.

If so, this would be highly unusual, in my experience.

If you do have a ticket number (even if there is no other content) you can still reply to the email and ask for a "progress report".

@terry-roberts

Please do as I said and reply to any one of the emails. The all-important ticket number is clearly shown in the subject line.

I have edited your post to remove those numbers since they are confidential and personal to you!

Ok finally got back to me. After trying all their suggestions, the one that worked as deleting a registry key, so for anyone else having this issue. To locate the registry key, click on "Start" , enter the command "Regedit" and select OK. The registry window appears. Delete the following entry Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{7DC6E619-5C35-4371-9D2A-9CF021CB55D1} if it will not delete you will need to download registrar registry manager free home edition from here https://www.resplendence.com/downloads

Thanks

@terry-roberts

Great to hear the problem is resolved. Thanks for the feedback and for giving the solution.

Out of interest, did Support provide the link to the Resplendence Software web site? I have used products from there before, and always found they "did the job" but other users who might read your solution do need to be always cautious about downloading software from third-party sites.

Yes the link was provided by Magix support and the site is safe. I have Norton 360 security as well as malwarebytes installed and there was no problem with the website.
