MPEG Import (Movie Pro 11)

MPEG import causes the software to either crash or there is no video from the import. Several mpegs were imported into this project and worked fine, but a select few of them had the above issues. Not sure where to go from here?

Hi Bill and welcome to the user to user forums.

Could you please read this forum post first and comply with the requirements as specified in the topic as there are a lot of versions of various programs and a lot of different peoples computer setups and video types to sort through. Otherwise we end up playing twenty questions trying to get to the root of your problem and may take much longer to resolve.

1.. Operating system:

Windows 10 - Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.2130)

2. .Hardware:

Video Driver - UHD Graphics 30.0.100.9955

Device - Lenovo Model 81Yh, 64 bit

Installed Memory - 8.00GB

Physical Memory 7.77GB

Available System Memory - 1.809.888kByte

3. Software:

Magix Movie Pro 11 Version 5.5.4.0

4. Description of Issue:

I have created a project and imported several PDF's and videos from my Iphone. All of the .MOV files were converted from .MOV to .MPG file extension to be compatible with Magix. This was done using a free conversion software. Several of the video files imported fine with no issues. There are 3 or 4 video imports that either cause the software to crash or the video fie imported, but with blank video with only sound. I tried rebooting the laptop, importing the MPG file into a new project, used different file conversion software. Not sure I understand why some files worked correctly and others do not?

Hi Bill.

While your Windows build is up to date, your drivers for the Intel graphics chip are several releases behind.

First try downloading the latest driver from the Intel website. It can scan your laptop if you wish and update any drivers you are behind on.

Then see if the video files now import correctly. If not then we may have to look at the data from your file conversions.

I'm assuming your laptop is this one.

Hi,

I presume that you mean Movie Edit Pro 11 and not Movie Pro 11.

I'm surprised that it would even work with Windows 10.
