MPEG-4 Output Resolution

Hi,

I have MEP15 and have loaded up some 1080i PAL 16:9 (1920 x 1080; 25fps) footage.  I want to export as MPEG-4 but the highest resolution I have available is MPEG-4 dialogue is 768x576.

I have seen a tutorial from someone else with MEP 15 and they were able to output at the full HD resolution so I wonder why mine doesn't?  Could I have an old MPEG-4 codec or something?

I have tried to work out how to update the Codec but although it was Magix that installed the codec when I bought it, there doesn't seem to be any option to update it.

Can anybod help?

I have some very nice HD footage from scuba diving but my resulting movie is only a maximum 480p in YouTube (and it displays it in a box)

I never had V15 but I do not think it had much HD support.

You may be able to use WMV8 HD or WMV9 HD though. This may entail installing Windows Media Encoder on your system.

AFAIK you cannot update the mp4 codec, the current version available (IIRC) will not work with MEP15 which is no longer supported.

You have not said which version of MEP 15 you have ie Basic, Plus or Premium..

However I would consider upgrading to the latest version (2103) as this is far better at handling HD than 15 and is faster.

Thanks for the responses.  I am downloading MEP 2013 as we speak.    I have MEP 15 Basic.  I just checked the tutorial I saw on YouTube again and the guy was using Plus so maybe that is the difference.

MEP 2013 outputs MP4 HD just great so that is fine.  Is it worth buying the PLUS version over the Basic?

Yes and no - it is better to buy the Premium version - just about everything licensing wise is included. 

There are a few exceptions such as the MVC codec however if you do not have a MVC camera then thatis no big deal.
