MPEG-4 activation Error

I'm trying to add an old iPhone movie into a new Video Pro X Movie Project. I've even tried an new clean project.
The Movie clip plays in multiple application on the PC, MS Media Player, Photos, QuickTime?

I keep getting ask to Activate MPEG-4 then when I select the "Active online", I then get another screen saying "The activation code is incorrect, Please Make sure it has been entered correct or contact the Magix customer support" ?

I have update my installation of Video Pro X to Version 19.0.1.138 on Windows 10. I’ve tried de-active and re-active, “run as administrator” did not fix issue. I've downloaded ALL possible via "Install Extra Content"

According to your page (https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/mpeg-4-codec-activation-main-concept--14/) I should be able to select Main Concept, but this space in setting where this should be is blank?

How go I active MPEG-4 so that I can add this movie clip to my project.

Hi Peter and welcome to the user to user forums, populated and moderated by users only so there are no Magix staff present to answer any direct questions.

So technically ,any pages on the main Magix website are not 'our' pages.

Having said that an MP4 codec wrapper should be accessible from within the program without the need for activation although the main concept encoder has been dropped in Movie Edit Pro 2022 and Video Pro X 13 of which you seem to have the latest patch.

If you look at the specifications pages for Video Pro X you will see that it supports " common formats only" which may imply your imported video clips may not be in a common format within the MP4 'wrapper' containing the codecs actually used.

To find that out I suggest you download the free MediaInfo application and the User guide and post the results here using the 'Text View' so we can tell you if your video clips should be working or not.

If VPX can't open a file, one would expect it to throw up a "file cannot be read" message, or display black video.

It shouldn't be giving an activation message.

I'd be contacting Support.

By the way, that MPEG 4 codec link isn't working here.

We need more information:

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip.
