mp4 seems broken

I'm currently running magix 2014 video premium and all of a sudden, when it writes out .mp4 video files, the files are always corrupt. I've transferred the video file to my other pc running x6 and all is fine. How do I reset the mp4 codec to work properly?

I'm running on an msi laptop - i7 processor, 16gb of memory, windows 8.1. version of Magix, 13.0.5.4 (UDC2).

Hi

. . . . all of a sudden, when it writes out .mp4 video files, the files are always corrupt. . . . .

Did something chanfge on your computer just before this prblem started - eg have you installed any other video editting / conversion software or codec packs?

Try reetting MEP back to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset program. . . . note this will lose any custom folder paths and settings you have made.

Hey John,

I did try that. Now here's the odd thing. Some files will work and some files won't. I did reset the settings to normal and did a software encoding and that worked but when I selected high in the default's it didn't work. It creates the file but the file isn't regonized by windows and definitely won't play, though it creates the file.

I've just created a brand new file and even resetting the settings in the advanced window is not helping. Just creating bad videos.

Ok, the question I have is, is there a way to remove the mp4 encoding engine and re-install it manually? I tried to reinstall the software but it didn't help.

I need to find a way to clear out the mp4 encoder so it can be re-installed and hopefully work again. I've done many videos on this computer - never an issue. Just all of a sudden it's not working I need it to work for my work.

Any more thoughts John?

Helllooooooooo - I'm finding that the problem is getting worse and worse. The lastest video I created cannot be rendered at all as an mp4 all modes fail.

I really need to resolve this as I use magix for customer videos and I don't get paid when I don't produce.
