@eric194814

I suspect no-one who posts here knows the answer to your question. Sorry.

Have you tried selecting more than one?

Normally, in many programs, you select the first object then holding down:

Ctrl while clicking an object lets you select other objects randomly adding them to the selection

Shift plus click on a second object adds the last object and all between.

I have indeed tried both approaches before: by using either of those keys to select multiple markers, but to no avail. The program definitely allows you to select multiple sounds in a project by using those keys (control & shift), but that doesn't seem to work for markers -- perhaps the markers just aren't selectable, in the way sound elements are?

At this point, i am only able to move markers one by one, rather than selecting a bunch of them and moving them together as a group. Very frustrating and time-consuming.

Hi Eric, bad news about not being able to move groups of markers. That would be a great feature to add to AP in the future. Hopefully someone from Magix is listening to your idea and a good one I'd say !

Thanks for the reply.

In case any Magix AcidPro developers happen to be reading this thread, let me elaborate by saying that i like to put a string of evenly spaced markers together for use as a "comb", for the purpose of quickly locating clipped peaks. Thus i will "comb" a short interval on a project timeline in order to deal with clips contained therein. When all clips within the comb region are resolved, then i move the markers within this comb to the next problematic interval, one by one. It would make my editing job so much easier and faster if it were possible to move the entire set of markers at once, rather than having to move them one at a time.

Thanks for listening, AcidPro developers!

I believe you know this but, just for clarification/information: since these are user to user forums it is highly unlikely that any developer will see your post, sorry.

This is probably overkill, but here goes..

It is possible to move a group of markers, regions, tempo changes and events in one go. However, this moves EVERYTHING! (apart from time markers)

If you just want to move markers you could try this..

  • create a section that covers the markers you wish to move
  • click on the timeline, but not an event, at the start and end of the section and hit the split key
  • use the selection tool to select the events in the selection,
  • with the lock envelopes to events option selected, cut the events to the clipboard
  • move the selection - the only thing left is the markers, regions, and tempo changes
  • paste the events back to the original location

but that's probably way more effort than simply just moving the markers :)

Thanks, but your remedy is too complicated, as my compositions have a large # of events that would need to get repasted.
