Movie Studio Suite 2022 (Version 21.0.1.92 (UDP3)

I bought the Movie Studio Suite 2022 upgrade (?) earlier in the month. I have Movie Studio Platinum 12. I was very happy with it. However, Movie Studio Studio 2022 is extremely buggy. It froze several times the first time I used it for an extended period of time. (I am using a Windows 10.5 Pro machine with Intel 9th Gen 6 Core processor, 32 GB RAM, and 2 TB SSD) Lots of features seems to have been eliminated. I couldn't even find a PAUSE button. Just now, the play button wouldn't play from the play head position but played from the beginning! I had to exit and reopen the application. In many ways I feel that it is a downgrade for me! Very frustrated and disappointed!

@Raktim-Sen

Hi,

Movie Studio is a copy of Movie Edit Pro that allows you to import basic projects started in Vegas Movie Studio. It is not the same program. In actuality, you get a lot more than you had with Vegas MS, but the way the program works is different. I suggest that you read the manual, especially the Quick Start chapter, watch the Magix tutorials both for MS and for Movie Edit Pro, and watch the tutorials on the list in this thread.

There is no pause button and one is not needed. The playback marker either stops at its location when you press stop, or returns to where it was when you started playback. You decide which one you want by adjusting the Program settings, or by using the shortcuts allowing you to work both ways. Watch my tutorials on Basic Editing.

If the playback marker always goes back to the beginning of the timeline, then a small bug has crept into your project. Click on the double-headed arrow at the bottom right of the timeline or press F to put the project full-screen from left to right. Playback should now work normally. Of course, you can now zoom in on the timeline..

Thank you, for a very prompt response. I will do as suggested. (that is, read the manual and quick start guide.) It doesn't however, address why the application is freezing from time to time! (I have sent the error log.)

Best regards,

Hi Raktim.

Do you mean you are using a Windows Surface with a 10.5" screen? If so exactly which processor is it using?

What additional drives are you using and what type? How much unused space is available on your C: drive? Which build version of Windows are you on? Which drive are your project files residing on? what are the file types and resolutions frame rates are they recorded at?

You have skipped many generations of video editing programs and the demands of the programs of the hardware has increased by more than a small margin so we need the answers to those questions please.

Ray.
